FISHING GROUNDS

The Nigerian coastline extends eight hundred and fifty-three kilometers along and is dominated by tidal inlets, estuaries, and swampland. Nigeria set up an Exclusive Economic Zone in 1978 stretching some 200 nautical miles. The Bight of Benin, Gulf of Guinea, and Bight of Bonny are tropical waters characterized by soft mud bottoms, and it is here that Prim7Stars seafood is caught.

A fully computerized reporting system allows the Fleet Manager to monitor production from the different fishing grounds in an effort to maintain an optimal balance between ocean stocks and fishing results. Atlantic Shrimpers Limited is obtaining licenses to expand into other West African countries.
